If you really look at this photo you can see that we had to make a sort of tent around the cymbol and we also taped a wallet to the snare drum. For some reason it made the drums sound better. I think that recording drums is like silkscreening…the craziest shit works.
This picture was hanging on the wall. It is matt and his 14 year old posse. Dork.
I found matt’s old vest when we were up in vermont. I searched for his butt flap but couldn’t find it. I wish I knew matt when he was a 16 year old punk!
I think it took us so long to record GRAND because we had to figure out things like where to put the mics to make it sound good. We moved alot of mics around!
